Light the Night

Looking to fill some volunteer credits? Feeling philanthropic? We can help! Currently we are recruiting volunteers for our Omaha Light the Night Walk. Here are some ways you can help:

Participate: Form a walk team or come out as an individual!

Volunteer: Day of event volunteers are needed to assist at our Light the Night Walk which takes place September 24th. Volunteers help hand out food, register walkers, distribute lanterns and assist in keeping the walks running smoothly.

Pre-Event Volunteer: Help Light the Night before the walks by making calls, being a secret shopper at our retail partner and much more.

Volunteer Leads: Act as an extension of the staff at the walks by managing various areas on event day. Volunteer Leads will be trained and are encouraged to recruit volunteers for their area as well.

Still want to help? Please fill out the attached form or contact our office at 402-344-2242 or lightthenight_neo@lls.org.

Did we mention you get a free t-shirt??

Mission Statement

The mission of The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society (LLS) is: Cure leukemia, lymphoma, Hodgkin's disease and myeloma, and improve the quality of life of patients and their families.

We work tirelessly to find cures and ensure patients can access the lifesaving treatments they need. When someone experiences the fear and uncertainty of a blood cancer diagnosis, we provide hope, compassion, education and support. Our impact is felt beyond blood cancer. The breakthrough treatments we helped advance for blood cancers are now improving the lives of people affected by many types of cancer.

Description

Volunteers are our partners in the crusade to end cancer.

In 2017, LLS volunteers made a significant impact while selflessly dedicating their time and talent to achieve our mission. With countless ways to engage, from fundraising to providing patient support, our volunteers are changing the landscape of cancer.

The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society's Nebraska Chapter serves residents who have been touched by one of the blood cancers: leukemia, lymphoma and myeloma. The chapter serves all of Nebraska and Pottawattamie County Iowa.
