ORGANIZATION: Neighbor to Neighbor - HOSTS ESL Mentoring

Beginning September 15, 2014 we need volunteers to mentor on Mondays and Wednesdays 3:30 - 4:30pm or Tuesdays and Thursdays 6:30-7:30pm. You can also choose to do just one day a week!

We meet at Millbrook United Methodist Church,1712 E. Millbrook, Raleigh, NC 27609

All lessons are prepared for you. You do not need to be bilingual.

"HOSTS" [Help One Student To Succeed] ESL [English as a Second Language] Mentoring Program: Matches positive role models to students and builds supportive relationships with youth and their families. Our mentoring sessions are geared towards helping students from diverse cultures and immigrant populations improve their reading comprehension and language arts skills so as to better achieve their academic goals.

Description

HOSTS ESL Mentoring Program: Match positive adult role models to students in our community, to build supportive relationships with children, youth and their families and help young Latino students who are behind in their reading comprehension and language arts.

This nationally recognized and proven learning curriculum enables students to perform at or above grade level. Each student meets one-on-one with a caring mentor to work through individualized curriculum in English as a Second Language.
