Since 1971, Hopelink has been serving Northeast King County. Helping people build skills and make a lasting change. Our Avondale Housing Program hosts a weekly dinner for residents and we need your help to make it happen!
On Wednesday, September 3rd, we are looking for a group (3-8 people) to cook dinner for 40-50 people. You'll need to provide the food, but it does not have to be extravagant and this means you get to make the decisions (and a difference!). Foods served range from Chili, Mac and Cheese, Baked Casseroles, Barbecue, Fried Chicken, etc. We have a full kitchen available for your use including 2 ovens and stove-tops, a microwave, some pots and pans, and the plates and utensils to serve the meal on.
Families come to eat between 6:30pm-7:30pm, so volunteers generally come around 5:45 to set up and head out around 8pm (or as soon as they are cleaned up).
For more information, please contact Liz Waesche at ewaesche(at)hope-link.org or (425)897-3721.
If you watch Top Chef and think: "I could feed a room full of people" this is the volunteer opportunity for you!

Mission Statement
The mission of Hopelink is to promote self-sufficiency for all members of our community; we help people make lasting change.
Description
Hopelink is the largest private, non-profit, social service agency in north and east King County. Hopelink started in 1971 in Bothell to assist families who had been affected by Boeing lay-offs with job search services. Since then, Hopelink has grown to include six emergency service centers and food banks, and programs in housing, family development, childcare, transportation, and more. In July of 2001, Eastside Literacy became a program of Hopelink, adding Adult Literacy and English as a Second Language services to our programs. Over 2000 Hopelink volunteers help their neighbors work towards lasting change each year.
