Surplus Exchange is a nonprofit business that diverts electronics and commercial furniture from landfills through reuse and responsible recycling. We are seeking board and committee members with legal, marketing, and web master expertise as well as individuals who represent the large corporations in our Greater Kansas City community.
Surplus Exchange is a nonprofit that secures most of its funding through the successful operation of a recycling business. This allows Surplus Exchange to give back to the community.

Mission Statement
The Surplus Exchange is a nonprofit that diverts electronics and commercial furniture from landfills through reuse and responsible recycling. Our goal is to refurbish electronics and either sell through our store or donate to community nonprofits until their end of life and then properly, ethically recycled.
Description
The Surplus Exchange is committed to keeping electronics out of landfills and underdeveloped countries. We are a 501(c)(3) non-profit, so all donations are tax deductible for the donor individual or organization. Our E-Steward certification guarantees strict guidelines are followed for the responsible recycling of electronics. The E-Steward certification also requires data security procedures adhere to NIST standard 800-88 Rev. 1 guidelines. We also accept donations of lightly used office furniture that we resell in our warehouse at 518 Santa Fe Street.
