UniversalGiving is an award-winning website allowing people to donate and volunteer with top performing projects all over the world. Unique to UniversalGiving, 100% of all donations goes directly to the cause and all projects are vetted with our 24-step proprietary Quality ModelTM.

UniversalGiving is rated as a Top Nonprofit by Great Nonprofits and has been featured on the homepage of BusinessWeek, Oprah.com, CBS, The Wall Street Journal, and The New York Times. CEO and Founder Pamela Hawley was a finalist for Ernst & Young’s Entrepreneur of the Year Award, and is an Expert Blogger for Fast Company and CSRWire.

The Operations Director will be responsible for leading the development of UniversalGiving’s strategic goals and overseeing Operations. We are seeking an experienced professional to work closely with the CEO to manage priorities and deadlines across the organization. This may entail dipping in to manage a specific business unit as needed, for example Corporate Services, Marketing, NGO Services or Product Development. Our ideal candidate has significant management background and is ready to give back to a smart, efficient, and globally impactful nonprofit. Excellent leadership and communication skills are essential.

Responsibilities:

5CF Work closely with the CEO to achieve organizational goals and metrics

5CF Oversee the successful operations of UniversalGiving’s Business Units

5CF Review and implement policies and systems that align with the organization’s mission

Ensure that operational procedures are followed

The role may also include:

5CF Contributing to and preparing budgets and financial reports

5CF Coordinating the organization’s staffing plans

Qualifications:

5CF Bachelor’s degree

5CF At least ten years of management experience

5CF Dynamic, results oriented leadership with the ability to work cross-functionally

5CF Excellent verbal and written communication skills

5CF Strong creative problem solving skills

5CF Critical attention to detail and commitment to excellence

5CF High proficiency in Microsoft Office programs (Word, Excel, Powerpoint) and Google applications (some training provided)

5CF Understanding of legal and financial items relevant to non-profit organizations a plus

5CF Prior experience with Salesforce a plus

Duration: Minimum of 15-20 hours per week for a minimum of 3 to 4 months. Ideal candidates are available to work in our San Francisco office 3-4 days/week (Monday through Friday) with the possibility of some work completed remotely. As this is a leadership position, the majority of work should be done in-office.
