Join Queens Library for "FUN DAY at Ridgewood" This special community event kicks off the school season and brings together Ridgewood parents, kids, and residents for a wonderful day of fun, information, games, and more! Volunteers are needed to help in a variety of ways...join us! Requirements

Volunteers will assist at the Queens Library table to provide information about library programs and services such as the Ridgewood book drive, how to receive a new library card; upcoming special events; and so much more!

3-4 volunteers are needed for both the morning and afternoon:

Choose one (or both shifts)

9:00am - 1:00pm (help with set-up and morning events)

1:00pm - 5:00m (help with afternoon events and clean-up)

  • Help homebound adults, youth, and seniors get books, movies, and music through Mail-a-Book Services
  • Read to youngsters whose parents are working or still learning English
  • Teach adults job skills and interview techniques
  • Help teens strengthen their academic skills and prepare for college as a Homework Helper or Academic Tutor
  • Welcome New Americans, helping them learn English and prepare them to become citizens...and more!
