City of Mesa's Girls on the Run program needs running buddies. The job of a Running Buddy is to accompany and encourage one or two girls through her end-of-season 5k event experience. That means registering for the event in advance, arriving in time to meet and spend time with your girl, running or walking at her pace and encouraging her to do her best, while recognizing and respecting her limits. The fall 2014 5k will be the Girls on the Run 5k on November 22, 2014. This is a one-time volunteer opportunity. Buddies do not attend lessons or practices.
