Global Potential (GP) provides urban youth from low-income communities with the skills and perspective that enable them to effect positive change in their lives, communities, and the global community. GP accomplishes this through engagement in leadership training, social entrepreneurship, international cultural exchange and service learning, which takes places for our students in Nicaragua, Dominican Republic, Haiti and Senegal.

4. Location of the office - 50 Milk St 17 th floor Boston MA

6. Commitment hours: 20-25 hours per week, 48 weeks per year (2 weeks paid vacation) Hours must be completed either in the GP Office, or in external meetings, school visits, or workshop attendance

7. Compensation: Stipend Provided

8. Job length: 1 year commitment

9. Position reports to: Program Director and Executive Director

Major Objective:

The overall purpose of the Program Manager is to make sure that the Program Coordination aspect of GP runs smoothly and successfully according to Global Potential’s program timeline. As a Program Manager, your responsibilities will vary from leading specific projects in Program Coordination independently to having a supportive role with others such as graduate students, mentors, school administrators, facilitators and the youth.

This position will provide the opportunity to travel to our NY offices as well as potential opportunity for international travel.

The Program Manager position is a fantastic growth opportunity for a motivated person to gain skills and perspective in a grassroots non-profit. Necessary attributes for this position are a strong passion for youth work and social justice, natural interpersonal and written communication skills, and tremendous attention to detail. GP is looking for. The ideal candidate for the Program Manager position is a self starter, someone who is highly motivated and vision driven who would like to see themselves grow with an organization. Preference given to those who have had experience traveling and understand how important a global perspective can have on transforming the lives of youth.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree and work experience in either business administration, fundraising, youth work or case management.
  • Ability to manage personal workload across multiple projects and teams
  • Independent and self motivator
  • Travel to two domestic meetings per year
  • Proficient or willing to learn how to utilize Salesforce, Google Apps and other systems that Global Potential operates.

There will be a 3 month probationary period, with performance evaluations every 6 months.
