ORGANIZATION: After School Matters

After School Matters is looking for a very organized volunteer to serve as a staff and volunteer liaison at our annual Friends & Family Reception at Navy Pier!
The role:
- Check-in After School Matters staff members and event volunteers as they arrive for their shifts.
- Organize and distribute staff captain bags and folders for each staff member and volunteer.
- Assign handheld radios and make sure they are fully charged and on the correct channels.
- Answer staff and volunteer questions about event logistics.
- Work with Staff/Volunteer Lounge Captains to troubleshoot any event complications or emergencies that may come up.
Shift: Monday, September 22 - 2:00 PM to 7:30 PM
Requirements:
- Must be organized and detail-oriented.
- Must be outgoing and feel comfortable speaking with staff and volunteers.

Over the past two decades, more than 200,000 teens have participated in our hands-on, project-based after-school and summer programs in the arts, science, sports, technology and communications. Programs take place at locations throughout the city including Chicago public high schools, Chicago Park District and Chicago Public Library locations, community-based organizations and Downtown at the Gallery 37 Center for the Arts.
