PLACEMENT PURPOSE
Dispatch volunteer Disaster Action Team (two-member team of volunteers) to home and apartment fires or other disasters when request is received from Red Cross communications center. This is a work-from-home position and can be considered virtual.
OPEN TIME DAYS
Be able to sign up for a minimum of four 12-hour on-call shifts per month.
3 to 4 hours of training plus 1 to 2 hour orientation required.
One Dispatch team meeting per month.
Disaster Services: An Overview (1-2 hours online)
Disaster Action Team Fundamentals ( 1-2 hours online)
Dispatcher Orientation (1-2 hours in person)
