PLACEMENT PURPOSE
Provide Health Services support utilizing protocols of the American Red Cross. Health Services Responders provide health services to clients and staff at various assignment settings including: Disaster Action Teams (DAT), emergency aid stations, respite and service c

OPEN TIME DAYS
Occasional on-call service is expected of Health Services responders. Evening and weekend availability desirable during disaster response.

REQUIRED TRAINING
  • Region/Chapter Volunteer Orientation (required)
  • Disaster Services: An Overview (modules one and two)(required)
  • Disaster Health Services Response Workshop
  • Client Casework:Providing Emergency Assistance
  • Client Assistnace Cards

    Recommended within the first year of service:
  • Basic Food Safety (third partonline)
  • Shelter Operations and Shelter Simulations (classroom)
  • American Red Cross Adult First Aid/CPR/AED
  • FEMA IS 100 (Incident Command System)
  • Logistics Overview and Simulations (Classroom)
  • Psychological First Aid (Classroom)
