Join the New York-New Jersey Trail Conference and the West Hudson North Clippers, the region’s new roving maintenance crew. The work will be routine maintenance, only on a grander scale: Extra hands are needed to clear storm damage from a trail. A trail is shrouded by overgrowth. Call in the Clippers!
The crew will meet as needed and will be available to the four parks in the region - Black Rock Forest Preserve , Minnewaska, Schunemunk and Storm King State Parks. You are welcome to join when, where and how often you like. No experience is necessary; training will be provided on site. New volunteers are welcome!
Come out for our inaugural trip, Saturday, September 6, 2014, from 9:30 am - 3:30 pm. We’ll meet at the Minnewaska State Park Preserve main entrance on Route 44/55, Gardiner , in the Lower Awosting parking lot. Wear sturdy hiking shoes and bring gloves, water, and lunch. Afterwards, join us at Pasquale’s Pizza in Gardiner, to learn more about the Trail Conference and the Clippers.
For more information, or to sign up, contact crew leader Sandy Cascio at sandy.cascio@yahoo.com or 732.500.7583. You can check out future dates on the Clippers’ crew page at http://nynjtc.org/content/west-hudson-north-clippers .
