In celebration of our 15th year of being of service to the community, and in partnership with Safeway and Amerigroup, Women Who Care Ministries launches our "It Takes A Village To Feed A Kid" Campaign.
The Campaign launches from Friday, August 26 through Sunday August 28, 2016 at the Safeway located at 20211 Goshen Rd in Gaithersburg MD. The goal is $250,000 and all proceeds benefit the Helping Kids Backpack Weekend Meal Program.
The weekend festivities feature a 3-day food drive, with customers purchasing food items for the program. Monetary and gift cards will also be accepted. Local press radio and tv personalities will be present to capture the event and help spread awaremenss of child hunger and viable ways the community can solve it. There will be giveaways, vendors moon bus by Amerigroup and other activities for children.
We are looking for individuals and corporations, churches and other institutions, civic groups, and the whole community to support this event through sponsorship.
We are also looking for volunteers during the following times: Friday, August 26 from 9am-7pm; Saturday from 730am-730pm and Sunday from 730am-730pm. Volunteers will help us collect the food and donations, load them on the trucks and unload at our facility located on Club House Rd.
On Saturday, there will be free moon bus for kids, along with free giveaways on the Safeway grounds! Don't miss it!
For more details as to how you can get involved please contact us at wwcmvolunteers@yahoo.com, or 301-740-2777. Please ask for Karen.
