Heartland Hospice in partnership with Legacy Corp. is hosting a Veterans group at Ft. Armstrong in Rock Island. This group is primarily a social/support opportunity for veterans to gather weekly and talk about their life and memories of their time in the military. The support volunteers would be asked to greet/gather the veterans, assist with serving refreshments/lunch and offer support and companionship. If you have a strong desire to work with veterans and have experience with the elderly, this may be the opportunity for you! Volunteers must be available to commit to either the first or third Friday each month between 10:00 AM and 12:30 PM.
