Mission Statement
Our mission at the
Leukemia & Lymphoma Society
is to cure leukemia, lymphoma, Hodgkin's disease and myeloma, and to improve the quality of life for patients and their families.
Description
The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society is the world's largest voluntary health organization dedicated to funding blood cancer research and providing education and patient services. Since its founding in 1949, the Society has invested more than $424 million in research specifically targeting leukemia, lymphoma and myeloma.
The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society's LIGHT THE NIGHT Walk is an annual celebration and commemoration of lives touched by cancer. In its 8th year, the walk is held in communities across the continent. Participants raise funds for cancer research and services that prolong and enhance the lives of people battling cancer. The results are profound: In 2005, the Society was able to invest $51.3 million in leading edge research and reach 2.5 million patients, families and healthcare professionals. These achievements were made in part by people who volunteered and participated in events like LIGHT THE NIGHT.
Still much needs to be done to advance our mission. That's why we're asking for your help!
