Mission Statement

Junior Achievement exists to inspire and prepare young people to succeed in a global economy.

Junior Achievement partners community volunteers with teachers in grades K-12 to implement curriculum focusing on three key content areas: entrepreneurship, financial literacy, and workplace readiness.

Description

At the heart of Junior Achievement are the volunteers who selflessly donate their time to inspire the children of our future. Junior Achievement's passionate volunteers are given the unique opportunity to educate kids on the economics of life through free enterprise education. Whether you choose to volunteer for a single school day, or help throughout a semester, your efforts to help kids understand what it takes to be successful will last a lifetime. Help spread the message of endless opportunity to a classroom in your community!

After informing your local Area office of your interest, you can choose from a variety of scenarios in which you can help. Depending on what is available in your community, and what grade preference you have (grades K-12), your commitment may vary from one full-day appearance to five to 10 one hour visits each week throughout the semester. Whatever the case, Junior Achievement provides the training, curriculum, and a warm classroom ready to greet you. The only thing needed on your behalf is enthusiasm, and a willingness to have an influence on our students.
