Global Family Philanthropy runs a tutoring program at Children First Academy in Phoenix, which has approximately 300 students -- 100 percent of them and their families live in poverty and 40 percent are homeless. We are looking for volunteers to commit to 2.5 hours a week for at least half the school year, preferably the entire school year. We will be working with grades K-9, focusing on math and reading. Volunteers working with the younger grades -- K-2 -- will most likely function as a teacher's aide. There is also a need for volunteers to help with recess and lunch duties, as well as volunteers to make copies for teachers.
