Have you ever wanted to do something that would completely change someone else's life for the better? Just imagine how the face of a child brightens the moment they first truly understand what it means to read. This is - literally - a life-changing moment.
In the US, right now, there are 65 million intellectually and educationally impoverished children and young adults who either cannot or can only just barely read. If you can't read, you can't learn, get through high school, or fill out a job application. Reading difficulty is the underlying reason 1.2 million kids drop out of high school each year. As of 2014, one-quarter of millennials cannot read proficiently and have given up on their education.
The American Youth Literacy Foundation, an established 501 c 3 non-profit based in a suburb of Philadelphia, has spent the last six years helping children "crack the literacy code" with its unique, patented, accelerated phonics program. We've road-tested our tutoring materials and training modules, and now want to take it to scale. Our plan is to raise $50 million so we can launch several programs that will fundamentally change the way reading is taught in America, helping to stem and then reverse the literacy crisis.
How You Can Help? We're looking for highly talented, proven, professional, experienced, marketing and copywriting gurus who can help us write a powerful script for a whiteboard tutorial presentation. If you're not familiar with these check out ydraw dot com and you'll see what we're talking about. We have the software and the artists to make this happen now, but we need to nail down the script that will appeal to a variety of different audiences. If you have talent in film making, commercials, or preferably, writing persuasive video scripts, then please contact us today.
There are no fixed hours associated with this opportunity but we need results quickly as we're mostly finished our draft powerpoint presentation that tells the story of the American Youth Literacy Foundation and how we are making a difference in the literacy crisis every day. Thank you for your consideration and interest in helping solve the children's literacy crisis in America. We look forward to working with you : )
