Develop your graphic design skills this semester while helping a busy fundraising and marketing office at a nonprofit children's charity: Boys & Girls Clubs of Huntington Valley.
You will be mentored by the Club's full-time graphic designer and gain experience in creating and updating collateral pieces for special event fundraisers, Boys & Girls Club program activities, and more. The special focus of the spring internship will be helping create design pieces for the Club’s sports and performing arts programs and annual benefit fundraisers, including a golf tournament and bowling tournament.
Hours will be scheduled between 8am-5pm Monday-Friday. We will work with you to develop a regular schedule of 10-20 hours per week based on your availability.
To apply, please email Michelle King at mking@bgchv.com with:
1. Cover letter explaining why you'd like to do an internship and what you hope to gain from the experience at the Boys & Girls Club. Please also note the days and times of the week you are available and the number of hours per week you would be able to commit to the internship.
2. Resume that includes:
- Related coursework.
- Any graphic design work or volunteer experience (if you have any yet).
- Level of proficiency (beginner - advanced) with the design programs that you have worked with.
3. Three samples of designs you have created - pieces created for class are fine - or link to an online portfolio if you have one.
Compensation: Great experience. This internship is an unpaid volunteer position with a nonprofit organization. It is a great resume builder and we can work with you to help you get course credit for the internship if you’d like.
