VISTA members will recruit, train and manage volunteers to help low to moderate income individuals gain access to health services, affordable health insurance, through the new Health Insurance Marketplace, and access other benefits programs that will provide them with critical supports needed to better maintain their health, financial stability and independence in the community.

AmeriCorps VISTA members serve full time, for one year (11/10/14-11/09/15) and receive a modest living allowance (approx. $1,000 a month), health coverage, an education award of $5,500, relocation expenses, and travel reimbursement.

VISTA members must have access to reliable transportation as they will be expected to travel to community meetings, activities and events outside of their assigned location within the projects designated service area.

Specific Duties
Recruit, train and manage volunteers
Create and/or expand existing volunteer programs at host sites
Schedule and coordinate educational events and activities
Create and distribute marketing materials to promote activities and volunteer opportunities
