San Diego Public Library Homework Coaches assist K-8 students with their homework, as part of Mayor Faulconer’s Do Your Homework @ the Library Program.
Activities
- Assist K-8 students with their homework at the San Diego Central Library @ Joan Irwin Jacobs Common
Desired Qualities
- Comfortable communicating with children, teens, and library staff
- Proficient in reading and writing, and willing to help with English, math, science, and other subject assignments
- Willing to learn and follow instructions and library rules
- Patient, empathetic, mature, and flexible
- Bilingual skills are a plus
- Background check required
- Must be able to provide own transportation to and from library site
- Minimum age: 15
Training and Support
Training will be provided. No prior teaching experience is necessary.
Time Commitment
6 months, 4 hours/month, afternoons and evenings
