The HR Specialist supports a 3-person team devoted to enhancing the employee experience, improving employee retention and satisfaction, and streamlining department operations and processes. Taking good care of our employees directly impacts their effectiveness and, most importantly, the client experience. Includes:

  • Improving employee recruitment and onboarding processes and procedures
  • Enhancing employee records management and maintenance
  • Supporting employee recognition and professional development

Volunteer duties include but are not limited too:

  • Conduct audit of current employee personnel files to ensure all files are complete, accurate and up-to-date.
  • Compile New Hire Orientation packets and record attendance at orientations.
  • Pre-screen resumes submitted to careers@nvfs.org email account using the corresponding job description to determine if the applicant meets the basic qualification requirements and flag competitive applicants for review by HR staff.

Volunteer must be available weekdays during regular business hours 9am-5pm for a minimum of 5 hours per week.
