Elizabeth Gregory Home (EGH) is in need of a skilled individual who can help establish the nuts and bolts needed to more effectively engage volunteers. EGH works to support women who are transitioning out of shelters by providing the tools to build the skills, confidence and self-esteem necessary to ensure self-sufficiency and to reunite with their loved ones.

Volunteers help EGH to provide crucial mentorship, education and employment services to women in need. You can help ensure that EGH is well poised to take advantage of these needed resources by applying to be part of United Way’s Volunteer Impact partnership Management Corps program.

EGH is participating in United Way’s Volunteer Impact Partnership (VIP) Manager Corps program in order to improve their volunteer engagement efforts. United Way, in partnership with 501 Commons, is providing the resources and training needed for volunteers to be able to develop the systems and processes needed for organizations to achieve their volunteer engagement goals. Gain this valuable experience and make a difference in the lives of homeless youth in the Seattle area.

As a VIP Manager Corps Volunteer, you will spend approximately 10 hours per week between now and the end of the year:

• Enhancing a volunteer orietation and training manual
• Developing a volunteer recognition program
• Creating an evaluation program for volunteer feedback
  

In return, you will receive:

• training in volunteer management best practices
• valuable experience working with a nonprofit
• the opportunity to serve in collaboration with a community of peers
• recognition for helping to increase an organization's capacity to deliver services

Qualified applicants will be able to demonstrate strong people skills, leadership expertise, and a commitment to service. A background in volunteer management or human resources is desirable, but not necessary, as some training will be provided. A successful candidate will have knowledge of or experience with homeless and/or at-risk communities.
