UPCOMING WALK: October 4th, 2014. Volunteers are needed for setup/teardown, registration & check-in, and event preparation leading up to the walk. Other ongoing opportunities available: Administrative functions, event support, event committees & planning, and outreach/awareness tasks.

Our walk events are filled with live music, food, kids’ entertainment, educational materials, and, of course, wonderful exposure for our corporate partners. If you would like to start your own Take Steps Iowa City Team, you can sign up at http://online.ccfa.org/site/TR/2012TakeStepsWalk/Chapter-Iowa?pg=entry&fr_id=4339or contact Emily Fundermann with any questions at EFundermann@ccfa.org.

We appreciate any and all efforts that contribute to this amazing cause. With volunteers like you, we are one step closer to a cure, and for that, we thank you. The fastest growing poplulation of those diagnosed are age 9 and younger. There is no better time to Take Steps!

Mission Statement

The mission of the Crohn's & Colitis Foundation is to cure Crohn's disease and ulcerative colitis, and to improve the quality of life of children and adults affected by these diseases. Crohn's disease and ulcerative colitis are collectively known as inflammatory bowel diseases (IBD).

Description

  • Fundraising Initiatives-Essential to the Crohn's & Colitis Foundation's mission, our ongoing fundraising efforts enable us to fund further research, as well as educational and patient support activities. Last year, we raised more than $80 million through memberships, fundraising events, sponsorships, and other programs. Local Foundation Chapters generate revenue through Take Steps, Team Challenge, spin4 crohn's & colitis cures and other special events; and innovative commercial partnerships with aligned businesses (i.e., pharmaceutical, nutrition) are providing new sources of revenue to fund mission-critical programming.
