Precious Essentials Program Volunteer -- Precious Essentials provides clothing and other basic essentials in a dignified manner to increase self-esteem for impoverished children and their families in Colorado. Children and families shop in our Resource Center for clothing items and essential needs items, all provided at no charge from donations. A Precious Child is seeking volunteers to help with all areas of this program, including keeping each section of the Resource Center fully stocked, cleaned, and extremely organized. You can also help check-out children and families when they are finished shopping. This position requires attention to detail and the utmost customer service skills. Come help a family out!
Time Commitment: One or multiple shifts per week. (Flexible options available, please ask!)
Schedule Options: Mon - Fri: 9:00am to 12:00pm, 12:00pm to 2:00 pm, 2:00pm to 5:00 pm. If these shifts do not work for you, please let us know what does! We are happy to work with your schedule!
About A Precious Child: A Precious Child is dedicated to providing basic essentials to children and families in Colorado that are poverty-stricken, homeless, abused, at-risk or facing a huge life challenge and without access to basic needs. A Precious Child, Inc. is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization that provides children in need with opportunities and resources to empower them to achieve their full potential. A Precious Child envisions a future where every child grows up to be a secure, self-reliant, contributing member of their community.
Description
A Precious Child assists children and families facing difficult life challenges such as abuse and neglect, crisis situations, and poverty. We work with more than 300 agency partners throughout eight counties which include Adams, Arapahoe, Boulder, Broomfield, Denver, Douglas, Jefferson, and Weld Counties to identify children and families in the most need of our services. Our core initiatives help build the whole child, in addition to meeting basic human needs through our Resource Center, we also help children and their families navigate community resources.
We aim to bridge the gap in a child’s education so that they can become a secure, self-reliant, contributing member of their community as adults.
