4-H 48 Hour Film Fest
Friday, October 17, 7:00 PM - Sunday, October 19, 6:00 PM
Northern Virginia 4-H Center, Front Royal, Virginia
Friday and Saturday we will have workshops for teens, then teams of participants will have 24 hours to make a film with a given theme. Sunday, we’ll have an exhibition for their families and some judges to provide feedback to the participants followed by an awards ceremony. We are in need of several volunteers to make this event a success:
Media Mentors: Media Mentors help keep film-making teams on track and give constructive feedback and technical support as needed. The 24 hour challenge will start at 2:00 PM on Saturday, October 18 and end at 2:00 PM on Sunday, October 19; so Media Mentors are needed throughout that period. While it would be great for Media Mentors to stay for that whole time-period, those that are only able to commit to a portion of the time will also be able to support our film making teams and help provide them with a variety of perspectives.
Judges: We are in need of 3 - 4 judges for the exhibition on Sunday, October 19 from 3:30 PM - 6:30 PM. Judges must have personal experience with filmmaking.
We would also be happy to have helpers during the whole event, although judges cannot be media mentors and vice versa. We will provide room and board for any volunteers helping out through meal and sleeping times.
