American Cancer Society volunteers have the opportunity to make a difference in their communities by having FUN planning FUN and helping out at our local events. We are looking for volunteers interested in helping at a variety of county wide events benefiting the American Cancer Society.
Our events are a global movement that take place in thousands of communities across the world. We celebrate cancer survivors, remember those lost, and fight back against cancer. Thanks to the determination of our supporters, the American Cancer Society funds all types of innovative cancer research; promotes education and risk reduction, and provides comprehensive patient support to those who need it most.
Our planning committees need your help to bring unique fun to the events! We need volunteers to help in various areas: General day of event volunteers, entertainment & activities, event leadership, sponsorship, team and participant recruitment, marketing & public relations, logistics, volunteer recognition, ceremonies, fundraising, donation requests, survivor and caregiver activities, online/web site, social media, advocacy, mission, team mentor and youth activities. We have opportunities for however much or little time you have to spare!
For more information on the areas mentioned above please contact Ashley Gray at Ashley.Gray@cancer.org

Description
Raising donations for participation in Relay For Life and Making Strides for Breast Cancer is fun as well as challenging.
There are so many people and organizations in your community that want to contribute. It is simply a matter of a creative approach.
Participants seek donations rather than pledges from family, friends and associates.
Most fundraising is done prior to, and at, the Relay For Life and Making Strides for Breast Cancer events,
although many teams choose to fundraise year-round.
