MAM is looking for patient and friendly Volunteer Assistants for our fall ESL classes! Experience is not required! You do not have to be bilingual to assist a class and must be able to read, write, and speak English fluently. An Assistant typically helps the teacher in the classroom by taking roll, writing on the board, helping students individually as well as when the class splits into two groups, etc.

Classes began this week (week of September 10th) and run for 10 weeks, through the week of November 12th. Classes are held on a Monday/Wednesday or a Tuesday/Thursday. Classes are held in the morning (9-11:30am), afternoon (12-2:30pm) or evening (6:30-9pm).

We have 2 positions remaining which includes either a Wednesday evening (6:30-9pm) class or a Thursday evening (6:30-9pm) class.

Support and materials are provided by MAM ESL Staff. Classes are held at either MAM or at a nearby location which is less than 2 miles from MAM. Each offsite location has a MAM ESL Site Coordinator at the location. As an ESL volunteer, you will experience firsthand the difference you are making in the lives of others!

If you would like to help or have further questions, please contact Pam Shirk at pshirk@maministries.org or call 713-574-7540. Thank you!
