Are you a creative, flexible, self-starter interested in assisting in a citizenship course to future U.S. citizens? Citizenship classes help prepare students for their naturalization test. Citizenship course topics include American government, history and civics while also enhancing students’ English skills. Volunteer positions are available to assist classroom instructors and highly motivated adults who are seeking their citizenship. Interested volunteers should be able to read, write and speak English fluently. It is not necessary to be bilingual to be an assistant. As a Citizenship volunteer you are committing to be available for a specific amount of time. Volunteer applicants must have the ability and willingness to assist classroom instructors with students in a patient, kind, and respectful manner. Previous experience greatly appreciated but not necessary. Volunteer orientation, training and classroom observation mandatory.
