If you have just 30 minutes to spare to walk through lower Manhattan, you can help numerous food insecure people receive a meal. By just picking up excess food from local restaurants with whom we partner, and walking it a few blocks to the NYC Rescue Mission, you can make a true impact in someone's life. 1 in 7 Americans are food insecure, 40% of the food produced in the US is wasted, and food waste makes up 40% of our landfills. With your help, we can reduce all of these numbers, make sure everyone has food to eat, and care for the Earth in the process. Our deliveries are quick, easy, and fun, and make a material difference to those we help.

Description
Rescuing Leftover Cuisine (RLC) is a nonprofit organization committed to fighting food insecurity and preventing wasted food. We have cultivated a network of dedicated food rescuers who bring food directly from our food donors to nonprofit recipients, letting neighbors help neighbors while reaping the environmental and economic benefits of reducing wasted food. Founded in 2013, our simple, but elegant model has saved over 8 million pounds of food since our inception.
