Reading Is FUNdamental Pittsburgh is currently seeking volunteers for its Everybody Wins! Program. This lunchtime literacy mentoring program pairs 1st, 2nd, & 3rd grade students with a caring adult to build a meaningful relationship while sharing good books, conversation, and other literacy related activities for one hour a week. These consistent one-on-one experiences increase a child’s opportunity for success, both academically and in life. Description
Everybody Wins! Share one lunch break a week with a second or third grade student through the Everybody Wins! Program. Everybody Wins! Power Lunch is a unique literacy and mentoring program that brings volunteers and students together to read and enjoy books. By reading aloud in a relaxed environment, volunteers promote reading for pleasure and foster a love of books. Volunteers have the option of meeting with their student each week or alternating with another volunteer to meet twice a month. RIF Pittsburgh is an affiliate of Everybody Wins! USA.
