About US
Who We Are
HRMAC San Antonio is an established 501 (c) (3) charitable organization providing services to veterans and their families dealing with homelessness, unemployment and assisting with transitional services, thereby improving their quality of life and future.
Founder, Jos Pablo Arzola
Jos’s interest in community service developed very young; growing up in San Antonio’s Westside and Southside and watching his parent’s involvement in community and church activities. His interest in community peaked during his second tour of active Naval Service. During this tour of active duty, Jos was recognized for his community involvement by receiving numerous human rights awards.
When Jos retired, he immediately became active in his children’s education by joining the local PTA, band boosters, and athletics club. Jos remains active in his community by continuing his work in behalf of homeless veterans, disabled veterans and their families. Jos is married to Ms. Elida Trevino, of San Antonio, and have five children and 13 grandchildren.
Our History
Since 2003, HRMAC San Antonio has been assisting veterans by providing services to homeless and unemployed veterans. HRMAC San Antonio provides clothing as needed, offers resume preparation, interviews skills, job development, job referrals, and we recently added VA disability claims service and social services referral.
Our Projects
Forgotten Warriors Project
The Forgotten Warriors Project is a coalition of non-profit organizations addressing issues related to the VA’s disability claims processing, service delivery and service quality.
Urgent Need
For the 2014 holiday season, we are collecting monetary donations to offer our veterans Thanksgiving Day gift cards from HEB. This is a new project we would like to offer every year to help out families affected by financial difficulties.
Throughout the year we accept donations for our Annual Veteran's Christmas Party in December. In 2012, we served 170 families. In 2013, we were able to increase that number. The goal in 2014, is to continue the trend of increasing the number of families we serve. With your help we can accomplish this goal.
Disibility Claims Training
HRMAC San Antonio volunteers have been trained to assist veterans with VA disability claims process. HRMAC San Antonio provides, by apointment assistance, with disability claims.
Our Future
Presently, additional volunteers are still needed to undergo training to assist veterans with their disability claims application. HRMACSA will continue to provide needed services to our military veterans and their families as funding permits.
