The Center for Disability Rights Wheel-A-Thon to Benefit Young People with Disabilities is a fundraising and community awareness campaign to benefit the youth programs and activities of the CDR and its partners.
Local businesses like Walgreen’s like to support the Wheel-A-Thon and enjoy the fun and exposure they get during the event that hundreds of people attend. Walgreen’s hands out water to participants at the start and mid-points of the Wheel-A-Thon course.
Hundreds of citizens and people from local business and civic associations take part in CDR’s Wheel-A-Thon for to Benefit Youth with Disabilities every year to help raise thousands of dollars CDR uses to fund some of its programs.

CDR’s mission is to promote options that empower people with disabilities to achieve their full potential and live independently, fully participate in their community, and exercise their rights as citizens. It shall challenge, through advocacy, education and citizen action, those systems that limit such options .
Description
CDR is a membership organization of persons with disabilities that operates a Center for Independent Living (CIL). Based in West Haven, Connecticut, the Center for Disability Rights advocates for people with disabilities and their issues on a local, state-wide, and national level. We also provide services to individuals and their families, as well as technical assistance and community education to businesses, government, and members of the community.
