We are currently seeking 2-3 individuals with prior teaching experience to teach our Pre-GED/GED classes. The staff will be responsible for teaching basic skills to students with varying academic levels while integrating GED skills, reading and math skills, social justice and community issues, and culture and help students meet necessary goals and qualify to get a GED. Staff will prepare students to take GED exam, instruct students on material needed in order to earn their GED, teach basic skills encompassing math, science, English, and literature, and help students prepare and study for GED exam. Founded in the winter of 2000, the organization is a registered nonprofit staffed by community volunteers and interns from undergraduate and graduate schools throughout New York City. Since the foundation, the organization has engaged in offering service of a unique nature aimed at meeting the needs of the community we serve. Currently, the organization provides Job Readiness Training and Referrals, Case Management and Referral, After School and Out-of-School Youth Educational and Recreational Program, Computer and Financial Literacy Classes, and Civic Education Classes to needed families on the North Shore of Staten Island.

The organization also provides Nutritional Food, Clothing, and other household items to families in need.
