ORGANIZATION: The Well of Mercy

We are a transitional living program for homeless women who choose life for their babies. We have on-site daycare so that the moms can work towards attaining their personal goals. We are seeking very consistent and reliable baby "cuddlers." But sorry guys, this volunteer opportunity is not for men!

You will support our daycare worker by giving love to the babies and kids who live here at the Well of Mercy. Your help will allow the moms in our program to focus on their educational and career goals so that they can raise themselves out of poverty and work towards a sustainable future for their families. With your help they will know that their young ones are being cared for in a safe and loving environment. We currently have a need volunteers for that can serve weekdays or Monday nights. But we are flexible with schedules and are willing to work with your availability!

If you don't get a response within 2 days, please call (773)274-4227 or send another email. We love new volunteers, but sometimes our response emails end up in the Spam folder!

Mission Statement

Our mission is to provide a communal home environment that exists to support single women with children who have been victims of domestic violence and/or poverty. Description

The Well of Mercy is a long-term transitional living environment for single mothers and their children. We aim to support women who desire independence and self-sufficiency by providing shelter, education and employment assistance, emotional support, and spiritual guidance.

We offer many resources under one roof, providing holistic support and a unique cooperative living environment. Our approach empowers single mothers to break the cycle of poverty, become less dependent on public aid, pursue meaningful contributions to society, and provide a consistent and healthy environment in which to raise their children.
