Keep Tampa Bay Beautiful is currently recruiting volunteers, sponsors and partners to assist with removing litter and debris from our community that consequently ends up in our local waterways. As part of the Hillsborough River & Coastal Cleanup, data is collected from the event including the number and type of littered items, the overall tonnage removed and the amount of recyclable material diverted from each site. This information is used to determine future needs and create an awareness of these needs within the community. As part of the International Coastal Cleanup, data is shared with the Keep America Beautiful, Ocean Conservancy, as well as local officials to help provide a local and global perspective.

Description
Keep Tampa Bay Beautiful is a not-for-profit organization that engages citizens and communities through environmental service and education. An affiliate of Keep America Beautiful, we began as a group of concerned residents who saw that litter was becoming a problem in their community through lack of community pride, limited knowledge of disposal options and urban growth. To combat these problems, we coordinate the Great American Cleanup in April, the Hillsborough River & Coastal Cleanup in the fall, the Adopt-A-Road and Adopt-A-Shore programs, community cleanups and an annual litter index survey.
