Activities Volunteer Position may be filled by Youth Volunteer
To assist in providing group activities (both therapeutic and diversional to veteran-patients.
Recreational Therapy, Nursing, Voluntary Service, Food & Nutrition Service, etc
Community Living Center, Spinal Cord Unit, Recreation Gym, Activity Rooms, Off-station (in the community), On-station (on the grounds)
VA Paid Employee - Head Nurse, Charge Nurse, Chief Recreation Therapist, Chief Voluntary Service, Chief F&NS, etc. (Or designee)
8:00 a.m. thru 9:00 p.m.(occasional evening hours), Sunday thru Saturday, or any portion as agreed upon.
Monthly activities.
Seasonal activities
Assist with cooking, group, arts and crafts, gardening, music, reminiscence, etc.
Provide escort to and from activity area.
Set up & clean up for activity.
Provide special assistance to veterans requiring assistance with activity.
Registered Schedule Volunteer or sign in as an Occasional Volunteer
Pleasant personality
Ability to follow directions
Ability to adhere to activity schedule
Ability to push wheelchairs

The Charlie Norwood VA Medical Center is a two division medical center located in Augusta. We provide primary care, acute care, and long term care planning for our Veteran patients. Voluntary Service is all about volunteering, donations, and creating opportunities for all of us to give back and care for our Veterans. Whether you wish to volunteer or wish to donate materials or funding to benefit our Veterans, we are the place ot start. Our volunteer program covers all aspects of the Charlie Norwood VA Medical Center. We seek to create volunteer positions that are rewarding and purposeful for all volunteers. Veterans need and deserve the best we can give them. We stand ready to help you make a difference in the lives of our Veterans.
