Foster parents provide temporary care for cats, kittens, dogs and puppies in their own home. Some animals need as little as two weeks of care, while others may need care for up to three months. Fostering is flexible enough for most lifestyles and TMHPR will match the animals to each foster home. By offering your time, energy and home to an animal in need, you prepare the animal for adoption into a permanent home by helping them to learn to be part of a family. TMHPR provides all veterinary care and medicine for foster animals, plus plenty of support to foster volunteers. How does the foster process work? When TMHPR receives animals who are not ready to be put up for adoption, we contact our foster volunteers. There will be plenty of opportunities to foster, so there is no pressure to take an animal if your family situation does not allow it at a certain time. Foster families come to our center in Richardson, TX to pick up the foster animal to take home. At that time our volunteers receive information about the animal’s condition and needs. Foster families may need to bring the animal periodically to be examined by the veterinarian, receive vaccinations or other treatment as well as public meet and greet events on Saturdays.

Mission Statement
Take Me Home Pet Rescue is a nonprofit organization committed to reducing the homeless pet population by rescuing dogs and cats from shelters and other unfortunate situations and having them spayed, neutered, vaccinated and microchipped before being adopted to their forever families.
Description
Take Me Home Pet Rescue is located in Richardson, Texas. While we are primarily a foster based rescue we do also have some dogs and cats at our adoption center on occasion. Fosters are crucial to our mission as they provide a warm family environment to help introduce our dogs and cats to children of all ages as well as to other pets and what its like to live in a forever family.
We have been in existence since April 2008 and have helped over 1200 animalsfrom local kill shelters and other unfortunate situations find their "happy ending". These happy endings are made possible by ensuring that all dogs and cats are spayed and neutered before being adopted. They also receive necessary medical treatment, vaccinations and are microchipped. In effort to make sure that they have found the right forever family, adopters are carefully matched and screened by one of our Home Visit Volunteers.
We hope you will consider joining us as a volunteer or foster! Your help does help to save lives!
