Take girls BEYOND their wildest dreams as a Girls Go Beyond Volunteer! As a Girls Go Beyond volunteer, you will have the opportunity to help girls Get Moving through science, help them navigate through friendships by Being a Friend First, explore the different cultures of the world and so much more! Give a girl the experience of a lifetime and skills that will help her succeed by becoming a Girls GO Beyond Volunteer! Girls go Beyond Volunteers give one hour a week for 6 weeks and work with a group of about 20 elementary or middle school aged girls, during the hours of 9:00a-5:00p. Girls Go Beyond sites are located in Mecklenburg, Cabarrus, Union, Rowan and York counties. Curriculum and material are provided.

Description
When people think about Girl Scouts, they think crafts, cookies, and camp but a lot has changed in 103 years. Here at the Girl Scouts, Hornets’ Nest Council our girls get their hands dirty with bugs and bones, put their minds to work on science and engineering projects, challenge their body and minds with challenge courses and 5k’s, help breast cancer patients survive their toughest moments, and build lasting relationships with fellow Girl Scouts. We serve extraordinary girls in Anson, Cabarrus, Mecklenburg, Montgomery, Rowan, Stanly, Union and York counties and we are always in need of extraordinary adults to help our girls reach their full potential.
