Cosmetologists Needed in Silver Spring to Help Cancer Patients Look Good and Feel Better

ORGANIZATION: American Cancer Society

Licensed Beauty Professionals are needed to help women undergoing cancer treatment combat the appearance-related side effects of treatment.

LookGood Feel Better (LGFB) volunteer licensed beauty professionals (cosmetologists and estheticians) help female cancer patients cope with the effects of chemotherapy and radiation by teaching them hands-on skincare and beauty techniques.

This free four-hour Volunteer Certification Training is hosted by the American Cancer Society and led by a certified area trainer. The class will train licensed beauty professionals to facilitate LGFB sessions.

Once certified, volunteers facilitate two-hour sessions with small groups of patients. Classes are casual, personal and fun. Make a difference in the lives of local cancer patients!
