California YMCA Youth & Government is a volunteer driven organization. We could not offer our programs without the time and talents generously donated by our volunteers. Our Sonoma County Family YMCA delegation is in need of passionate, talented volunteers. The role of advisor is equal parts mentor, teacher, and friend. This job is the most important one in California YMCA Youth & Government and, as such, is also the most rewarding. Our advisors see the impact of California YMCA Youth & Government on their delegates firsthand. Our local delegation is comprised mostly of Middle School students in Windsor. The 5-month program begins in November and will run until April. We meet weekly and have one training conference at Camp Roberts in Paso Robles in March the program wraps up with a 4 day conference in Los Angeles. Advisors will help students with debate skills, proposal writing, parlimentary procedure, and much more. If you are interested, please contact Sonoma County Family YMCA Youth Development Coordinator, Kyle Nuss, at 707-544-1829 ext 3313 or at knuss@scfymca.org
