Girl Scouting makes a difference for girls... and so can you!
Girl Scout volunteers guide and coach girls in their own communities develop leadership skills, explore new things, and learn about themselves. Girls and adults meet as a group or troop to make friends, build trust and grow together. If you want to help girls in your community gain skills to do better in school, learn tools to grow their self esteem and confidence along having a lot of fun - we need you.
- You can choose to work with girls of any age from 5 to 17.
- If you aren't sure what to do, that's okay. There are adult learning courses, handbooks, online tools, volunteer meetings and dedicated staff members to help along the way.
- You don't lead a troop alone...you volunteer with a team of caring adults, each with their own strengths, to make Girl Scouting happen.
- You can set the location, duration and frequency of troop meetings to fit your schedule.
- You don't have to have children of your own to join a troop.
- No Girl Scout experience is required- what matters is that you care about girls and we'll help with the rest!

Mission Statement
Girl Scouting builds girls of courage, confidence, and character who make the world a better place.
Description
Founded in 1912, Girl Scouts of the USA is the preeminent organization for girls with a current membership of 3.6 million girls and adults. Volunteers use their expertise, skills, interests, and life experience to shape fun and enriching leadership experiences for girls, and inspire them to reach their personal best. Volunteers help council staff facilitate the New Girl Scout Leadership Experience to girls through exciting program opportunities: leadership/self-esteem, financial literacy, travel, health/wellness, science, technology, engineering, and math. Volunteers choose from several flexible Pathways (the ways that girls and adults join Girl Scouting) that fit their lifestyles, including short-term or long-term service working either directly or indirectly with girls, and they can participate regionally, nationally, and internationally.
