Rainbow Girls Fighting Against Hunger in Oregon
"Being a Rainbow Girl made me who I am today. It taught me how to find myself and grow into the individual I am today. I have had years of fun and made many life-long friendships," says Susan Dunham

The International Order of the Rainbow for Girls offers opportunties for youth to gain life skills and work experience while helping others in our community.

Young women ages 11-20 are eligible to particiapte in community service projects that are planned, executed and evaluated by the girls. Volunteer opportunities include but are not limited to community-wide events like "Breakfast with Santa" and "Strike Out Childhood Language Disorders Bowl-A-Thon" to banquet serving and beach clean up.

Applications for membership are accepted on a rolling basis throughout the year. Business meetings for the club fall on the 2nd & 4th Sundays at 4PM.

Mission Statement

Founded in 1922, the International Order of the Rainbow for Girls empowers young women between 11-20 to become competent, capable and compassionate leaders by helping them learn to help others. Through its Service Leadership Program, IORG strives to give each of our members the skills necessary for a young woman to be successful in an ever changing world.

We define service leadership as a vital step in service learning. Once a person fully understands the concept of learning by helping others, he or she begins to grow personally as a leader. Rainbow is fun and filled with forever friendships.

Rainbow welcomes girls of every race, religion and culture, and has locations throughout the United States and Canada, in addition to Aruba, Australia, Bolivia, Brazil, Germany, Italy, Japan, and the Philippines.

Rainbow Gets Girls Ready for Life!

Description

What Is Rainbow?
Rainbow is a nonprofit organization that strives to give girls the tools, training, and encouragement to let their individual spirits shine bright. By providing members with a safe, fun, caring environment where responsible, older girls can interact and mentor younger girls through family involvement.

Rainbow Girls are busy!
By participating in fun events and activities, keeping up with new friends, and traveling to different cities and states, members experience the excitement of what a productive life has to offer.

Rainbow Girls love a challenge!
From volunteering for different charities, to working to improve their public speaking, to mastering the lessons of Rainbow, members tackle lots of challenging hurdles but ultimately walk away with a sense of pride and accomplishment.

Rainbow Girls are ready for life!
Whether they dream of becoming a successful veterinarian, a talented musician, or a loving mother, Rainbow Girls learn that they can accomplish anything and that they can make a difference.
