Do you love music and enjoy sharing your musical talents with others? At Summit Community Hospice we are looking for volunteers to play music, instruments or sing to our hospice patients. Sharing music is a wonderful way to enhance comfort and quality of life for a patient who is at the end of their life. Our patients live throughout the Denver Metro area in nursing homes, assisted livings, retirement communities and in their on homes. The volunteer's schedule is flexible for volunteering and an in depth orientation is provided. Must be 18 years old and pass a background check

Our mission is to provide quality care for patients faced with a life limiting illness. The goal is to improve the quality of a person’s life through pain and symptom control, as well as with emotional and spiritual support.
We believe the patient and family are integral decision making members of the hospice team in planning care. Hospice offers an alternative to repeat hospitalizations. Hospice affirms life. It neither hastens nor postpones death but assists the patient and family in living with a life limiting illness. Hospice regards dying as a normal process at life’s end which we can provide dignity and comfort for the patient and loved ones.
Description
Summit Community Hospice is a hospice care company that serves patients in communities throughout Denver and the surrounding metro area. Our hospice services help terminally ill patients face end-of-life issues with dignity and grace. Respecting the wishes of our patients and their families, we provide palliative care, emotional support and spiritual sustenance to improve quality of life at the end of life.
