Celebrating Families! is a national, evidence-based program for families in which one or both parents are recovering from alcohol and/or drug addiction. The program works with every member of the family, from ages three through adult, to strengthen recovery, break the cycle of addiction, and increase successful family reunification. Group facilitators will lead a scripted series of activities and lessons for a specific age group. Classes and activities focus on knowledge and skills to promote healthy family interaction for those on the road to recovery.
- Provide participants with information and serve as a healthy role model and advocate for successful recovery
- Coordinate material needs with other facilitators and the Celebrating Families Program Coordinator
- Present lesson plans to group within a set time frame
- Maintain the group focus on rules/guidelines for behavior
- Work effectively with one Co-Facilitator and model healthy group dynamics.
No experience necessary; training is provided. We are looking for compassionate, friendly, and committed volunteers who can facilitate a weekly group for a period of 20 weeks. Two sessions of Celebrating Families! run yearly. Contact us to learn when the next session begins and what you can do in the meantime!

Mission Statement
The mission of The Center for Children and Families is to ensure safety, well-being and permanency for children. We are a merger of three previously independent agencies (Second Chance Homes, Forever Families, and Arrowhead Psychological) working together to serve vulnerable and in-crisis families in our community.
Description
The Center for Children and Families provides services in three areas. The Second Chance Homes Program provides 24-hour staffed sober and supportive transitional housing for families in recovery from substance abuse. Services allow children to remain in parent care while the parent is in recovery and/or to return children more quickly to parental care. The Forever Families Program provides supportive services for foster/adoptive families and also provides supportive/financial services to youth aging out of the foster care system (ages 16-24). Our mental health and clinical services division provides individual neuropsychological assessment, mental health assessments, and parent child bonding assessments for families as well as individual and family mental health services. We also provide a myriad of therapeutic groups including Seeking Safety, Celebrating Families, Circle of Trust, and Transparenting education (for divorcing/separating/co-parenting families). Lastly, the agency often provides community training on the brain chemistry of addiction, team building and trauma informed environments.
