Have you ever wanted to do something AMAZING to change the world but didn't know where to start? Here is an opportunity to help underprivileged children, to help under-served children, to help gifted children, to help ALL children, to help teens and young adults and to help you and the people you know and love. The American Youth Literacy Foundation is implementing a comprehensive strategy to reverse the Literacy Crisis and, by extension, the Education Crisis in America by delivering a transformational "Synthetic Phonics" reading curriculum to children through a process known as "Applied Dissipative Social Structure Theory." What that means in English is that we are building a "Benevolent Hurricane" of human energy, human experience, human compassion and human connectivity to bring literacy and opportunity to America's "New New Poor," the 65 million intellectually and educationally impoverished children and young adults of the United States who either cannot or can only barely read.

We are looking for two academically talented, pragmatic and socially compassionate volunteers who want to make a memorable and powerful contribution to children's literacy and help us transform the educational landscape in America. We are all about "Doing Good!" But we are also about practicality. Our organization is an established, six year old 501 c 3 charitable non-profit based in Philadelphia, (Collegeville) PA. Re run a successful nationwide tutoring program recruiting hundreds of high school and college students (and adults) online each month, training them to become reading tutors and helping them find students in their local communities.

If you can imagine how the face of a child brightens the moment they first truly understand what it means to read, this is the moment and the feeling that you can help bring to thousands of children by helping our organization help them learn how to read. This is the moment and feeling that we want to bring to millions of children nationwide who have been left behind, as we grow and expand our operations over the next 6 years and beyond. If you are interested in a leadership position helping to coordinate dozens of volunteers and grow this exciting and established program, please contact us and we will send you a detailed job description.
