Are you tech savvy? Do you enjoy working with K-12 students? If so, you can make a difference in a Sarasota County student's life by helping out in one of our Digital Learning Labs!
Digital Learning Labs, an initiative of the Education Foundation of Sarasota County, provide a safe and supportive environment where underserved students can access computers, internet and training.
We are currently looking for creative and patient volunteers for the 2014-15 school year. Some lab locations that will need assistance soon include:
- Glenallen Elementary School
- Toledo Blade Elementary School
- Brentwood Elementary School
- North Port Public Library
- Selby Public Library
As a Digital Learning Lab trainer, you'll:
- Facilitate students’ completion of self-directed, educational software
- Work one-on-one to develop students' computer skills
- Help students use the computers for homework, research, etc.
- Monitor and track student progress
- Engage students and parents to participate in the training program
