To impact the lives of young people by providing educational programs that build character, instill life-enhancing values and promote healthy choices through the game of golf.

Description

The First Tee of Greater Washington, DC offers a safe and positive environment at golf courses and U.S. military installations where young people are surrounded by caring adults and receive life skills and character education through golf during nonschool hours. Its programming and curriculum are designed for young people ages 7-18 and incorporate the nine core values that represent the positive values connected with the game of golf; honesty, integrity, sportsmanship, respect, confidence, responsibility, perseverance, judgment and courtesy.
