Sociology of Sexuality: Essays on Sex, Culture and Society
These essays take a look at many of the problems facing society today from the perspective of sexual dysfunction. We observe the connection of sex to both a problem and possible solutions.
We seek editors who would like to work on any of the essays they choose. All the essays are in draft form. The ideas and theories in the manuscript are evolving and in need of editing, updates, additional research and rewrites before publication.
Google Commenter. These essay manuscripts are all Google Docs. As an editor, you can use the Commenter feature to suggest edits, add research, or make rewrites.
Trigger Warning: Many ideas in these manuscripts are politically incorrect and meant to stimulate discussion. If you have strong sensitivities in discussions concerning stereotypes, criticism, humor, and ignorance, please be aware. We are looking for volunteers who support free and open discussion about issues such as human sexuality that can often feel divisive in today's America and throughout the world.
All the essays and books are part of the World Art Erotica Virtual Museum of Art, Literature and Ideas from across the globe.
Sociology of Sexuality Essays
All the essays are at various stages of completion. Volunteers can choose to work on any of these book projects or all three as there is overlapping content in each book.
If your application is approved, we will give you free access to the manuscript with editing instructions. You will have Commenter status so you can directly make improvements when proofreading, research, and editing:
- Reading & Editing. We welcome volunteers who have any experience either as non-fiction writers, critical thinkers, activists, and editors. We are especially seeking those who would like to work on gender equality from different perspectives than the mainstream.
- Using AI. We welcome those who wish to use AI tools for research and rewriting
- Self Publishers. We are also looking for proofreaders and editors who can prepare our manuscripts using a self-publishing platform.

Mission Statement
Our community is based on the principle of 'pleasurable activism'. We try to do our bit to 'save the world' but also enjoy ourselves at the same time. It is why we call our community 'Hedonisia'. We have fun in paradise but are not blind to the world's problems. Though our physical community was destroyed in the 2018 Kilauea volcano eruption we continue our work online. In the Hedonisia Lava to Lotus Web Portfolio, we work on a portfolio of activist, ecofeminist and social entrepreneur projects with the assistance of volunteers from across the globe.
Description
Hedonisia Hawaii EcoFeminist Community was started in 2004 in the Hawaiian rainforest. Our community was based on ecofeminism and ecotourism as our social and economic foundations.
Though our community was small, the projects we work on have a global reach. We are idealist and pragmatic seeking entrepreneurial and creative solutions to various challenges we face in the world.
In 2018, Hedonisia Hawaii was destroyed by lava flow from the Kilauea volcanic eruption. Undeterred, we continue work on the many creative projects that were born at our pre-volcano community.
There is a one-acre green zone on the property, that did not get covered by lava. This is known as a Kipuka in the Hawaiian language. We are preparing to return to our land by slowly planting and landscaping on our Kipuka.
In the meanwhile, our community is now virtual. Over five hundred volunteers from around the world have worked on the various projects in the Hedonisia Lava to Lotus Portfolio.
