Hospice is looking for Certified Pet Therapy animals and their wonderful owners to join our team! Pets have been proven to provide comfort and joy through interaction due to their ability to give and receive love unconditionally. Hospice patients are all facing a terminal illness and can benefit greatly from the companionship of both you and your pet. All animals must be certified as a "Pet Therapy Animal," through any organization that tests and certifies animals specifically for pet therapy such as PAWS, Therapy Dogs International, Delta Society, etc. We will need proof of this certification as well as proof of liability insurance and up-to-date vaccinations. We also ask that you agree to a free background check, as well as two TB tests. Volunteers are assigned to patient’s homes and/or facilities as close to home as possible. Make a difference in your community and volunteer you and your animal today! Contact Jennifer Hickman, Volunteer coordinator at 626-918-1207.
